Wyse and IDC Partner to Host Summit on the Benefits of Thin Computing

Summit educates Business Process Outsourcers (BPOs) on how thin computing solutions can improve competitiveness

Wyse Technology and IDC India are jointly hosting a first of its kind educational summit for Business Process Outsourcers (BPOs) in India on how thin computing solutions can be used to reduce operating costs, simplify IT management across the network, and enhance security.

The goal of the summit is to educate executives about market trends and opportunities as well as discuss best IT practices which will help India's BPOs meet the demands of their large enterprise customers in the U.S. and Europe for an overall competitive advantage. The summit is scheduled as two half-day seminars with workshop sessions for senior BPO executives at Gurgaon on Tuesday, 17th October 2006 and at Bangalore on Wednesday, 18th October 2006.

According to IDC India, the size of India’s exports of BPO services during calendar year 2005 was estimated to be US$ 6.93 billion. This is expected to grow at a CAGR of 26 percent over the period 2005-2010 to reach US$ 24.5 billion by 2010. The market for domestic IT Exports Scenarios (ITES) BPO segment has been estimated at US$ 844 million in 2005 and is expected to grow at a 52 percent Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) to reach US$ 6.7 billion by 2010.
