Wyse Technology Names Max Toy as COO to Drive Focus on Enterprise End-to-End Solutions

Appointment of Former President of Software Leader, Rapport Technologies, Signals Accelerated Integration of Software and Services Into Wyse Server-Centric Offerings

Wyse Technology, the domain experts in server-centric computing (SCC), today announced the appointment of industry veteran Max Toy as Chief Operating Officer. The former president of Wyse's software subsidiary, Rapport Technologies, Toy will play a major role in executing the company's global strategy to deliver customer end-to-end server centric solutions to reduce IT cost and complexity, liberate IT staff from unnecessary administration and maintenance, and empower users to be more effective at their jobs.

Toy's appointment follows the full integration of Rapport Technologies into Wyse's corporate structure. Rapport software continues to be the industry's leading management software for thin-client and server-centric computing. Rapport is now an integral part of Wyse's comprehensive set of management tools for thin clients and other embedded O/S devices, including handhelds driven by the Palm and Pocket PC operating systems and Smart Phones.

"As the dominant share leader in thin-client computing worldwide, Wyse is increasingly focused on delivering a complete end-to-end solution for customers. Rapport is an essential ingredient in that offering," said John Stringer, President and CEO of Wyse Technology. "Max played an important role in making Rapport the category leader in device management software. His expertise and leadership will be invaluable as we embark on our next step in defining the future of our company and our industry."

Toy is a computer industry veteran whose experience spans twenty-four years of explosive growth and successful business turnarounds. He began his career at IBM, where he established the successful Independent Dealer Channel program for the newly launched IBM Personal Computer and was then recruited by Compaq Computer Corporation to build its sales and marketing organization. He later led both ITT's Information Systems and Commodore Business Machines as president, returning those companies to growth, profitability and increased shareholder value. He was also instrumental in bringing Ashton Tate back to profitability.

"With more than a 40-percent share of the WW thin-client market and growing at over 25 percent CAGR, Wyse Technology has played a leading role in shaping one of the most dynamic and fast-paced sectors of today's technology industry," said Toy. "I'm honored to be selected to help drive this continued growth and to further expand our company's solution set and offerings. As more customers embrace the productivity, cost, and security benefits of a centrally managed server-centric environment, we will continue to be at the forefront of delivering best-of-breed hardware, software, and services to advance this model."
