Former Vice President of Engineering Curt Schwebke
Becomes Chief Technology Officer
San Jose, CA –
13/11/2002 -
Wyse Technology, the domain experts in server-centric computing, announced that Mark Calomeni has joined the Wyse executive management team as vice president of engineering. Calomeni leads the worldwide product research, development and quality assurance engineering teams. Former vice president of engineering Curt Schwebke is appointed chief technology officer, where he is responsible for the company's technology road map, and will work closely with industry partners and cross-functional departments to evaluate opportunities for investment and new business. Calomeni joins Wyse from OnDemand Inc., where he served as vice president of engineering and professional services. In his role at OnDemand Inc., Calomeni had responsibilities that included software engineering management, research and development, quality assurance and technology partnerships. Calomeni has more than 28 years of experience leading and managing enterprise software teams, with a majority of those years at Hewlett-Packard where he was responsible for various software and hardware engineering management roles.
"As Wyse continues to expand its corporate strategy to move beyond thin clients and develop additional server-centric computing products, it was clear that we needed to split our current product development from future technology evaluation tracks." says John Stringer, president & CEO. "While we have found a perfect fit for Curt Schwebke, former Wyse VP of engineering to become our CTO, our search for a person to lead our product development teams led us to Mark because of his experience in engineering and expertise in leading and managing enterprise engineering teams."
From the client, through the network, to the server, Wyse provides the products, services and domain expertise to reduce the barriers global enterprises face in adopting server-centric computing. Through this expanded product and services portfolio, and in conjunction with its strategic partners Microsoft® Corp. and Citrix® Systems, Wyse will maintain its thin-client market share lead and accelerate the growth of server-centric computing.
